“Bethany”…the home of Mary and Martha, sisters to Lazarus, represents two very important aspects of ladies' ministry at Greater Faith. We discover that “Bethany”, by examining the innate characteristics of both Mary and Martha, is inclusive of serving and worshipping Jesus Christ. We remember Martha for her attitude of serving Jesus and we remember Mary for her spirit of worship towards Jesus.
With teams of ladies in place, “Bethany” serves a number of roles within the local church and abroad. Jesus Christ was the quintessential servant and has commissioned us to be like Him. These ladies diligently seek for opportunities to be a blessing to God’s Kingdom. From fundraisers to women’s fellowship, and from evangelism to feeding the poor, they are exercising their gifts and callings without ambiguity.
Although serving is one of the most recognizable traits of “Bethany”, there is another facet of ministry that is equally as important. Linking up with Mary’s example of worship and her passionate love for God, the ladies have formed their own prayer group which they have dubbed, “Daughters of Zion". This consists of a tight network of intercessory prayer teams eager to pray for the needs of families inside and outside of the body of Christ. “Daughters of Zion” is a conglomeration of mature saints and new disciples who are bent on worship and prayer.
Aside from their scheduled prayer sessions together, there is also a consistent siege against the enemy to remain in control of the future of our children. Many of these ladies, though they have diverse schedules, have set aside time to pray daily in the main sanctuary at Greater Faith. They understand through experience that prayer is turning the face of our city toward God and the face of God toward our city.
If serving God with your abilities and/or spending seasons of prayer alone with God is your burden, then join up with “Bethany". Praying for the anointing upon our families is something we cannot do without. No wonder Jesus loved to go to Bethany.
