Pastor J. Todd Nichols is a fourth generation minister of the gospel and is an ordained minister with the United Pentecostal Church International (U.P.C.I.). He has sat on various committees and think-tanks and is currently serving as the Global Impact Coordinator of Indiana for the U.P.C.I., headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri. He has been and continues to be a speaker at national conferences, camp meetings, and youth conferences that exist for the purpose of promoting the gospel of Jesus Christ and revival around the world.
Pastor Nichols and his wife Susan have been blessed with three wonderful children: Matthew (born in 1998), Colton (born in 1999), and Madison, born in 2001, seven days before Rev. Nichols was elected pastor of Greater Faith Church.
Pastor Nichols was born August 31, 1969 as a native resident of Houston, Texas where he resided until August of 1992. He attended Houston Baptist University and graduated from San Jacinto College, completing his fifth year, and spent four years in the field of Mechanical Engineering. Pastor Nichols then moved to Jackson, Mississippi to begin pursuing his call to full-time ministry. Upon completion of his Bachelor of Theology degree from Jackson College of Ministry he soon married the love of his life, Susan, and together they began their evangelistic ministry.
For the next seven years they would preach revivals in the United States from the East Coast to the West Coast, as well as revivals and crusades on foreign soil. During these revivals in the United States and the numerous crusades around the globe, Pastor Nichols witnessed the outpouring of the Holy Ghost on multiplied tens of thousands of souls as was prophesied in Joel 2:28.
On the wake of these revivals, God began to speak to the heart of Pastor Nichols about the Louisville, Kentucky/Southern Indiana area. Prior to this season of his ministry, he had not experienced a passion to pastor a local church. In fact, he had felt that the itinerant evangelistic ministry would be a life-long journey. However, in April of 2001 that would begin to change and a drastic transformation in his ministry would take place in only four short months.
On August 7, 2001, Pastor Nichols was elected as the pastor of Greater Faith Church in New Albany, Indiana, just six miles north of downtown Louisville. After seven months without a pastor and much uncertainty about the future, Greater Faith Church began to experience great revival. Prayer became a continuum of the people of Greater Faith and has escalated steadily since that time. The church’s strong belief in God, a positive vision of the future, and a relentless pursuit of revival and evangelism has established Greater Faith as a strong assembly of believers.
Greater Faith has emerged as an easily recognizable and respected church in the Louisville metropolitan area. It is known throughout the city as a church that provides community services to the widowed, the homeless, and the hungry. It is a church which stands for righteousness, while continuously reaching out with unconditional love to every person regardless of creed or culture.
Greater Faith is a sponsor of various conferences and meetings around the United States geared towards changing people's lives and establishing them in the church. Greater Faith supports twenty-eight missionaries from all over the world and aims to be a blessing to all men of all nations.
The ministry of Greater Faith challenges every believer to GROW in at least three areas: spiritually, mentally, and financially, while setting a standard of numerical growth without having to compromise Biblical truth. Greater Faith has sought to provide a stable environment for families, a godly environment for children, and a spiritual environment for those seeking salvation and/or diverse kinds of miracles.
Greater Faith is “The Place for Miracles” …not because of our abilities, but because we will not turn back from our strong passion to reach for a level of “greater faith.” As a result, the miracles have been nearly unfathomable except for the confidence we have in God's power. Paul wrote to the church at Rome: “...I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith:” Rom 1:16-17
